Maartje Blans (1975) is a Dutch mixed media visual artist currently based in Beijing. She graduated in Textile Arts and Art History at The Amsterdam School of The Arts, and received her master of Fine Arts in Costume Design at the State University of New York. She has taught Visual Arts and Art History, she has worked internationnally as a Costume Designer for Theatre and Film and is also a professional Art Therapist.

Maartje Blans’work has been featured globally in prominent venues devoted to contemporary art such as Art Beijing Contemporary Art Fairs (2010 and 2011) and “Dialogue”, a group exhibition organized at The Dutch Cultural Center in Shanghai and part of the official activities of The Dutch Pavilion at The 2010 Shanghai World Expo.
